Who Can Apply for a Saudi Tourist Visa?
Saudi Arabia offers several tourist-entry routes. However, the right option depends on your circumstances. In particular, living in the UAE is different from holding UAE citizenship, and an Emirates ID is not a Saudi visa.
UAE and other GCC residents
Official Saudi announcements identify GCC residents as an eligible category for tourist visas. Nevertheless, you must meet the current application conditions, provide valid residence evidence and obtain the required Saudi visa. Check the residence-validity requirement in the applicable official application route before applying.
Eligible passport holders
The official Saudi tourist eVisa portal lists eligible nationalities. If your passport qualifies, you may apply through that route. Otherwise, check whether your residence status or another qualifying status provides an alternative route.
Indian and Pakistani Passport Holders Living in the UAE
If you hold an Indian or Pakistani passport and live in the UAE, ask about the GCC-resident route. Your nationality alone does not describe your complete eligibility. Likewise, a UAE visit visa does not establish UAE residence. Share your nationality, residence expiry date and planned travel date with our team so we can explain the relevant checks.
If no online route fits your circumstances, consult the official Saudi visa service or the relevant Saudi mission. We will not describe every applicant as automatically eligible.

Passport and identity
- A clear copy of the passport information page.
- A passport with at least six months remaining when you enter Saudi Arabia, under the tourist eVisa terms.
- A recent photograph that meets the portal’s requirements.
- Accurate name, date of birth and passport details.
Residence and trip details
- Valid UAE or other GCC residence evidence when applying through that route.
- Emirates ID copy where relevant to our document review.
- An active email address and contact number.
- Travel dates, accommodation details and any additional information requested by the application system.
Check that every name and passport number matches your travel document. In addition, prepare a separate application for each traveller where required. A parent or authorised adult must handle a minor’s application according to the portal’s rules.

Understand the terms
Visa Validity, Permitted Stay and Travel Purpose
The official tourist eVisa portal describes a standard one-year, multiple-entry eVisa with up to 90 days’ stay. However, one year of validity does not mean you can remain in Saudi Arabia for a full year. Always follow the conditions printed on your own visa, and do not assume that leaving and returning resets your permitted stay.
- Tourism: holidays, sightseeing and eligible events fall within the tourist visa’s scope.
- Visiting friends or relatives: the tourist route can cover such visits, but the separately sponsored family-visit visa is a different category.
- Umrah: the tourist visa can permit Umrah subject to current seasonal restrictions and any required arrangements or permits.
- Hajj: a tourist visa does not authorise Hajj.
- Employment: the tourist eVisa does not permit paid work.
For Umrah travel, check the latest official instructions close to departure. In particular, do not rely on an old seasonal notice as the rule for your future travel dates.

Also ask about refund terms: the official tourist eVisa terms state that submitted applications cannot be cancelled for a refund and unsuccessful applicants do not receive a refund of the application fees. How long does Saudi tourist visa processing take?
There is no approval deadline that NSB can guarantee for every applicant. The authorities may request more information or conduct additional checks. Therefore, apply in advance and avoid treating an estimated processing time as a promise.
Does a tourist visa allow Umrah or Hajj?
A tourist visa can allow Umrah subject to current restrictions and required permits or arrangements. It does not authorise Hajj. Confirm seasonal entry rules and Umrah requirements before booking your trip.
Is a tourist visa the same as a family visit visa?
No. A tourist visa can cover permitted visits to friends or relatives, but the separately sponsored family-visit visa follows a different application route and set of conditions. Tell us your purpose of travel so we can explain the distinction.
Does an approved Saudi visa guarantee entry?
No. The official eVisa terms state that immigration officers retain the decision on admission at the border. Travel with the passport used for the application, your visa and any other documents required for your route.
